January San Antón This event is celebrated from the evening of 16 to 17 January. They make bonfires, limoná (lemonade) and the guarrillo (pig) of San Antón is auctioned.
San Ildefonso and La Paz This event takes place on 23 and 24 January. A migas and gachas (fried breadcrumbs dish and thick flour-based soup respectively) competition is held.
March/April The Armaos (armed ones) of Holy Week This celebration represents the Roman legions that seized Jesus of Nazareth and is a recreation of that event.
May Romería de la Virgen de las Nieves This is a religious procession that takes place on the second weekend in May. The romería is a celebration held in honour of the Virgen de las Nieves.
June Meetings of Lace Makers These are held on the second weekend in June. It is a traditional meeting of lace makers who do artisan lace work including lace trims.
July International Classical Theatre Festival This event is held in July. The performances take place on various stages: Corral de Comedias, Claustro de los Dominicos, Hospital de San Juan or the Teatro Municipal.
August Feria de San Bartolomé This fair is held from 23 to 28 August. These are the Patron Saint’s Fairs and Festivals in honour of the patron saint, San Bartolomé.
Virgen de Las Nieves This is a local festival celebrated on 5 August. The Almagro locals bid farewell to their patron saint, who will spend the summer at Santuario Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, which is 7km from Almagro.
October Contemporary Theatre Festival This is celebrated during the weekends of October.
