March Carnival During Carnival, the Concurso Regional de Carrozas y Comparsas (Regional Competition of Carriages and Musical Groups) is held, which many carnival groups and clubs from all over the region participate in as well as the popular Entierro de la Sardina (the Burial of the Sardine).
August Feria de Agosto The August Fair begins with the procession of gigantes (giant figures) and cabezudos (people wearing large hollow head masks) and a spectacular fireworks display. The festive activities continue with competitions, cultural and sports events, bullfighting celebrations, traditional dances, wine dances, concerts and an endless list of activities.
September Wine Fairs and Festivals Held from 1 to 8 September, this festival has been declared of national tourist interest. The festival includes the offering of the first grape juice to the Virgin. There are numerous additional activities: competitions, tastings, concerts, and much more.
Exposición Internacional de Artes Plásticas The International Fine Arts Exhibition is held from 1 to 8 September. The Valdepeñas Town Council Modern Art collection includes works by prominent artists, such as Antonio López, Pancho Cossio, Agustín Úbeda, Antonio Guijarro, Juan Bartola, Francisco Arias, Alfredo Alcaín, Julio Vaquero, Alejandro Quincoces, Mon Montoya, etc.
October Tasting of the new wine and poetic sunset This takes place on the Saturday closest to 30 October. The celebration of the tasting of the new wine and poetic sunset is held on the premises of the literary group, “El Trascacho”.
November Feria de la Tapa This festival is dedicated to the tasting of different tapas made by chefs from all over the province.
