May Los Mayos are sung on the night of 30 April. They have been declared of regional tourist interest. The rondallas (serenading musical groups) go from house to house and sing to ladies all through the night.
Las Cruces Held from 2 to 3 May. This fiesta has been declared of regional tourist interest. People go through the town following the bonfires that mark the spots where there is a decorated cross and once at the cross, at the base of the cross, people are offered the “puñao” (bag of dry chickpeas) and at the bowl next to the cross, people are invited to take some punch.
Route of Don Quixote This celebration is held on the evening of 31 May. People from the village dress up as characters from the novel, and activities, games, competitions and so on are held.
July Days of Prose and Poetry
August Festival de Música Clásica Some of the most prestigious international classical music artists participate in this festival of classical music.
Certamen Literario "Quevedo" This “Quevedo” Literary Competition is held on the last Saturday in August. It is an international competition and includes a ceremony with clothing and customs of the 17th Century.
Fairs and Festivals The town festivals coincide with the literary days.
Romería a la Virgen de la Antigua This religious procession is held in the middle of August.
September Fiesta del Pimiento The ‘festival of the pepper’ is held on the first Sunday in September. Pisto Manchego (ratatouille) is prepared in a huge frying pan for everyone. Various activities are organised for all ages, from storytelling and games for the younger ones to workshops, concerts and a medieval market that can be enjoyed by all.
